I am working on fixing the Approve Registration Mod and I came across something.
The Mod uses a new_member.asp file. When I examine the file it looks like this used to be a file from the base code. When I look at all the files used in SR5 I don't see such a file. Was there ever a new_members.asp file in the base code?
The file code in question can be found at: http://dragoncrest.com/board/new_members.txt
This file includes the standard copyright at the top which I have not seen on asp pages created from scratch by Mod makers. There is also a comment for New Member Confirmation Mod, which though not the exact name of the Mod in question, also implies this page was once part of the Base Code.
Any help for this mystery?
Thanks, Sterling

That file, to my knoledge has never been part of the base code. Perhaps it is part of the email validation mod.
I do know that many mod makers, myself included, do put the Snitz copyright information at the top of the pages.
I guess its kinda our way of saying 'we made this for you the community, not for ourselves'

Nathan,
I am VERY appreciative of those who give back to the community, since that is what MAKES a community.
Is there some other common Mod that uses new_members.asp? I wouldn't even bother, but if you look at the code, you will see about half way down line 262 is a comment for the Mod.
Or as it seems is more likely, is it that most of the code was borrowed from some other portion of snitz and the modification was made for this MODs use?
Is there any information on who wrote the Approve Registration Mod that is at the Snitz Exchange?
Thanks, Sterling

Thanks!!!
I think you are right. I got a hold of an app called WinDiff which is pretty convenient for comparing files and they look pretty close.
It looks like the place where the bulk of the functionality described in the original Mod would best be executed in the Register.asp.
Is anyone aware of any other places that would need to be modified? Assuming that one didn't care to differenciate between ages .
Thanks, Sterling
