I've asked for assistance with this problem before, but it remains unsolved. When I attempt to perform various actions on the forum (I am the admin) such as add a new topic, edit a forum to make it private, etc, I receive a script error indicating that there is a syntax error in the file post.asp at line 288, char 7.
A possible related issue is that when I attempt to make a forum private (change the Auth Type from All Visitors to something else), the "Select Members" column is inaccessible and there is an error. This time it references line 1 char 1 of post.asp and the error message is "Object expected".
One of the solutions suggested last time was to install the updated post.asp file which I did. The problem remains. I have searched the Snitz Forum database but found nothing applicable.
I can't provide a URL as the forum is on our intranet. Any help in solving this vexing problem would be appreciated.

Have you tried to download a fresh post.asp and start over again?

Please post a link to a text version of your post.asp and the exact error message that you get.

I could send you the post.asp file but it would be an exact copy of the updated one I downloaded from Snitz. I just re-confirmed that I am using the updated post.asp file.
Because we're on an intranet, I can't easily post the Internet Explorer error message. I'll quote the message here that I get when I attempt to edit Forum properties:
Line: 288 Char: 7 Error: Syntax error Code: 0 URL: http://marpdev02/forum/post.asp?method:EditForum&FORUM_ID=48&CAT_ID=1&Forum_Title=Needed%3A+an+Email=charter&type=0
Please let me know if you need other details. Thanks.

It seems that my line 288 is different from yours cause I have a end if at line 288.
Please post that line here plus 10 lines above and below.

I've just upgraded to version 3.3.05, but the problem is still there as before. I carefully followed the installation instructions, copying all files to the forum folder after editing config.asp. I ran the "check installation" task and it completed with no errors.
Is there anywhere/anything else I can check?

Dont know if this is anything, but .. the URL to your page looks weird. You have method:, and that happends to be the 7th charector of the string.. if you changed that : to an = does it work?
Thanks, Marshall

Sorry that was a typo. The error displays an = sign.
