Hello there, got a strange one if a user tries to register, it fails with the message "username may not contain the word" with nothing at the end. any idea's would be greatfully recieved

Check that your bad word looks like this:

word1 | word2 | word3

There can be no trailing '|' character. That's what's causing you the problem right now.
