I'm asking the same thing...
If I download the newest version of the forum do I still have to do the changes "RichardKinser" told us about or is it allready done in the newest version?

Yes, but Aaron created a version that has all the bug/security fixes installed. See this topic http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=27151

Regarding the Admin status he may have granted some other user just have a look at the member's list to see if you can find someone who has an Administrator level unduly granted.

What's to say that he didn't change his title to say New Member or something? Is there a way for admins to sort users by there level and to display that level?

Check the database. Admins will have member level = 3 in the M_LEVEL column at the database.
If you can't check directly, a simplr SQL query can give you the admins...

Our site was also hacked today, same people as tobycerqua linked to. they appear to be hosted on superonline.net in Turkey. According to the log file they went in, got the admin password and decided to mess around. Surely we can do something about them?

Sure, you can apply the security patches mentioned in the Announcements community forum.
