Just a side note, this mod should work on 3.1 sr X . . . but if you choose the move archives button it will generate a 500 internal server error.

Hi Nathan,
I tested it on 3.34 and it works wonderfully well. Thanks..

Just also wandering whether it is possible to move postings back from achive to its original non-archive forum. May be asking too much but I have a situation where I need to move 100 over postings back from archive. Just ignore this if it is not useful to most people.

Ok ok ok. . . I'll consider doing that for my next mod. Its sure requested enough. But I don't think I'm going to design a 'mass' de-archive. . . only one topic at a time

Just wanted to say that this MOD works like a charm! Cut my forum consolidation down from two weeks to an hour. Great job Nathan... and thank you.

Eric

PS: Confirmed it works with 3.1 SR4

Nathan - have you considered a merge topic mod? one that does basically what [ I assume ] this mod does, and merges two topics into one. This could be useful in merging two topics on the exact same thing into one. Posts would be organized by time. Just thought this might be useful. If there's already one out there - I apologize.

That would just cause confusion. . . becase then there would just be two conversations meshed. It would be like sitting 4 blind-folded strangers in a square and having each try to hold a conversation with the one accross from them.

I updated this mod, because I thought that maybe you wanted to move the replys as well as the posts. . . . I'm working on another update now that will give you the option of mergeing moderators and members lists as well.

It would be useful in situations where you already have a rather long topic dedicated to say "What purpose is there for aluminum foil?" The topic is about 8 pages long. Then a new user posts a new topic on "Aluminum foil is good because." we don't want two topics on the same thing, so we would merge the two, so that the new post is a reply to the old one. See what I'm saying? It could be handy for other things as well.

strSql = "DELETE * FROM " & strTablePrefix & "FORUM WHERE FORUM_ID=" & intSrcForum

Thats the bugger, what database type Dayve?

**Also, if its on a 3.3.x I recomend you use version 2. . . it supports the moving of subscriptions.
