I don't suppose anyone knows why my Events keep thinking it is last year, do they? Every time I click on it, it defaults to 2001 and saying that nothing is upcoming when in fact I have an event entered for three or four days from now.

Hi Nixon
I canīt help you on that. I have never heared about that before. But how are the dates on your forum ?
If the dates are ok in the forum - try check your local clock on the computer, even I donīt think that the events calender uses the client clock, but else I canīt figure out whats wrong.

Now that you mention it, the year is off on all the posts... I hadn't realized that before. Force of habit, I guess. I still sign my checks with last year too, heh. The system clock is correct, I checked that as my first guess. The only other thing I can think is that the bios clock is set back a year, I think. Do you think that could be the problem?

I think it must be a server problem if the same problems apears on the forum also. Try contact your host about the problem. If you are your own host there are proberbly support webplaces to help you solve the problem.
- btw. did the db-updates go well with the files I posted ?

I'm rebuilding the server again tonight, doing some upgrades, and reinstalling a different OS tonight so hopefully that will solve all the problems. As for the upgrades to the old database, I did them (it was the default database that comes with 3.3.03) but could not view profiles or topics. I just decided to trash the old database and make people reregister. So far, they've been fairly happy with the exchange. A more versatile board, but losing all their posts. Nobody has complained. One thing to note: I fixed the 403 errors people got when lots of people hit the box at the same time by turning off logging. This also means that the page doesn't know that anyone else is on the page at any given time so it kinda negates the mod telling who is online. Another reason why I'm switching off of XP.

Nixon, I found the two missing db-files that didnīt made the way into the db-files.zip - if you still have a copy of your old database try run those two in the order listed here (right-click, save destination as .asp):
1. http://home19.inet.tele.dk/surf99/dbs_modcmd.asp 2. http://home19.inet.tele.dk/surf99/dbs_FileAttachment.asp ------------------------------------------------------------ If you already have a forum: I have updated the normal version with a single setup-file for db-changes and delteted the old db-files - if you use a Acces 2000 database and do already have a version 3.3.03 but want to include the mods of this forum - please read the readme-file included in the zip-file

Depends on a few things.
I will not do anything with beta versions, but most importent, if Davio do relaease a version with the poll and annymous acces mods included I will try to include some of most common mods like the ones in this version based on his version, avatar-upload, private messages, events-calender and Active Users. I will not add dozens of mods that make the version very slow and useless for most. But to be honnest, I hope somebody else will do it, Iīm really not so good at this - everytime something works its a little victory for me

Well apparently the date of posts are based on the bios time and not the system time. Bizzare. Now I get to go bump all the topics since none of them show up (default 30 day history) anymore. I'm loving it. I know for a fact that if I didn't find little things to do, I'd be bored stiff.

Earlier, someone was having problems with the Avatar uploader. I think I have found the cause:
If you are using an access database, and the database is not in the /tools directory of the forum, then you will encounter an error along the lines of "object already open"
I was running my database in a seperate directory, and this did not work. For reference, my server is IIS on Windows XP Professional.
Hope that helps!

I have not had that error with my forum. I am also using XP with IIS 5.1 but I moved the database to a separate drive entirely and it works fine. I'm going to give up on hosting it from my machine though because XP wouldn't allow enough connections, and Win2k A.S. won't share my MP3 and Porn folders with the rest of my house, plus it was hacked this afternoon so I can't even use the forum at all now. Good thing I have backups of everything. :) I'm going to look into putting everything on Brinkster which means I have to relearn most of this stuff. Wish me luck. If anyone knows a good thread explaining how to do this, that would be most helpful.

Brinkster is not so hard to figure out - the brinkster version I have for download here you donīt need to edit the files. Just remember to put your db in the db-dir and set the config.asp with username and password. The hard part of Brinkster is the uploading - no FTP - and only 5 files at the time. But their service is free - so you could spend a Dollar or two to a littlebrother and let him upload it all for you

I have tried to get this modified forum online but I cannot seem to log in to the Administrator control panel. I am able to log in as the Administrator but when the admin_home.asp page goes to load it just hangs and never actually loads.
Anyone got any ideas?

The only differences I have notised from the normal version and the Brinkster version is that you get server timeouts much quicker by Brinkster - but I donīt have any problems logging into the admin area.
