Hi guys:
This mod sounds perfect for me to use.

Can you guys please tell me which program you use to edit the files.
My ongoing problem is that I use Notepad for each and have difficulty finding each specific line to insert the mod.

Is there a program that will open both files left and right, and will scroll each at the same time?

Thanks for you help.
Dave

This mod doesn't tell you what line numbers to use. It is commented inthe files where you need to add code or edit it.

I use a program called Beyond Compare to compare files: http://www.scootersoftware.com

Beyond Compare works brilliantly. Thanks for the tip.

Now. I installed everthing and made the changes, but I got a line error, white page comes up when you click to register.

I have the private message MOD installed.

Will these two MODS work together?

Thanks,
DAve

Very nice MOD.

I'd give it a 10 for easy install on a vanilla 3.3.03 Snitz.

Just what I was looking for.

Mod has been updated. Fixed security vunerabilities that I found.
All users are asked to update thier files with the changes.

Please see the first post in this topic for details.

Davio:

Did you only change one line in each file?

Those two pages have changed so much that it is a pain to try and do a compare.

Why not just post those two line changes so folks don't have to waste their time downloading it, etc...

Aaron, the way you phrase your sentences sometimes really offends me. But that's just sometimes.

In register.asp, I changed this line:
key = Request.QueryString("actkey")
to this:
key = chkString(Request.QueryString("actkey"), "SQLString")
In pop_profile.asp I changed this line:
verkey = Request.QueryString("verkey")
to this:
verkey = chkString(Request.QueryString("verkey"),"SQLString")

Here is what a meant to say... hopefully in a less offensive way.

This is a very important update since most Snitz users have this MOD installed.

I have found that asking people to download the entire MOD and find the changes can scare people away.

Because this MOD is so critical, I did not want that to happen.

Especially since this is an extremely easy patch to install.

Thanks Davio for posting the changes, I was going to ask for the same thing. I'm sure that Aaron didn't mean to upset you
