Stimmy, do you mind if I include your smile mod as an integrated part of my RTE mod?
You will get crdit in the documentation.

Line 78 of pop_new_smiles.asp is
"<td colspan=3>No extra smiles found</td></tr>")
I think it is supposed to be
"<td colspan=3 bgcolor="<%=strForumCellColor%>">No extra smiles found</td></tr>")
And the same thing in the noclick file [code] response.write("<tr><td colspan=3>No Smiles Found</td></tr>")[code] [code] response.write("<tr><td colspan=3 bgcolor="<%=strForumCellColor%>">No Smiles Found</td></tr>")[code]

You're right about the background color thing. I personally never encountered the "no smiles found" message so I hadn't noticed that ... thanks.

Yes you can integrate it with your RTE mod :)
Normally when someone installs the smiles manager they put extra smiles in, so that Not found thing isnt really important, but I'll fix it anyway.

I love the smilie admin mod, just made one minor change: I included the pop_new_smiles.asp code in the pop_icon_legend.asp file, at the end, and eliminated the second button in the format bar I included when installed the smilie mod.
Cheers! |

I am noticing a strange thing when smilies are called out in a users sugnature section of their profile. The sig is supposed to be a 255 character field. When a smilie ie. ([N6]) is inserted, it seems to increase the byte count by 47. Anybody else experience this?

Great mod... just having one small problem.
Let me preface. Using Snitz 3.3 with Access 2002. Installing the mod seemed to go fine (database upgrade, code mods, etc.) and all of the mod functions seem to work.
The mod popup window shows the additional smilies and will automatically paste the "code" to the post. This works just like it's supposed to. But when the post is viewed or previewed, my smilies don't show. Just the "code" for the smiley.
I've made sure my additional smilies are in the forum folder and am just using the smiley file name as a path. I assume the paths are correct as the mod will show the smilies in the popup selection window.
I'm sure I'm doing some stupid little thing wrong. Help is much appreciated.

It sounds like the problem would be in one of two places: in your inc_functions.asp or post_info.asp. Somewhere in there it's not converting the code to the correct smiley. inc_functions.asp sounds like the most probable one, be sure that you've added in the MOD code into inc_functions.asp where it should be. There's an example on given in the zip and the readme states what to search for to find the added MOD stuff.

Thank you Paladin... as suspected, it was a fault on my side. Some how snipped off a bit of code when copying the second script addition to inc_functions.asp.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Everything working smoothly now.
