Just thought I'd point out that @home has yet to pick up on the new IP address for Snitz (pointing to 63.x.x.x not 213.x.x.x).
Only reason I'm bringing it up is because when I've made changes in the past, they (@home) has been relatively quick to respond to the change.
Since it's been a decent amount of time since we got back online - I just want to be sure that there isn't something wrong with the DNS changes that were made...'causing a large ISP like @home to not pick up on it.
Ciao...

we are aware of this, and are not sure why the DNS is not propagating like it should be.
I'm on Roadrunner, and it's still pointing to the old 63.x.x.x IP Address for me as well.
Mike has resubmitted the DNS change, I think twice now. |

Yep, same for me. Have to be using the HOSTS file to get here. Otherwise it points to the old ip address. I can imagine a lot of other users are not able to access the forums either.

I can connect fine using my own DNS, and the office's DNS. Does the lookup (authoritative) just fine. @home is still incorrect. Man, I have to think it's just them. They've been nothing but trouble for me over the past 2.5 years. It's silly how poorly their network functions.

Well, I have RoadRunner, and they point back to the old IP. I think it's not them, RoadRunner or @Home, because how could they switch back and forth the DNS (Yesterday, I can visit this forum without configuring the host file)?

Yep, I have exactly the same problem. At home, sometimes it works, sometime I get the "The site is currently down....." message. The error seems to be in the registration of NS1.CENTRALINFO.NET At work, the forum won`t work at all.

Bizarre for sure...
Yesterday DNS Resolution: @home: OLD Office: NEW Personal: NEW
Today DNS Resolution: @home: NEW Office: OLD Personal: NEW
<shrug> It's almost like the root servers are not synchronized or something, causing a battle between who's right and wrong (thus the flopping back and forth) <shaking head> Hmm.

I am not sure if I will be adding any value to this topic. I can ping the 213.239.44.100 ok from Massachusetts on Roadrunner. However, If use http://213.239.44.100 I get "page not found". This has been happening for the last week or so.
Thanks,
Mo

More than one domain name on that one IP? Using Host Headers?

forum.snitz.com does not have a dedicated IP address. The server we are on is host for other websites as well.
http://www.magicmushroom.co.uk is one of them. |
