You don't see it any where? Meaning you can't find the "Anonymous Access" option there? I just checked the file in the zip. The option is there. Look again dayve. It's the 10th option down.

Should this mod be implemented as a standard feature in ver 4.0 or 4.1? - I really think so...
But then again - I was also the one who thought someone was going to update email notification of events to 3.0.0.3, so I might be wrong

Standard feature? This mod is not going to be included into the Snitz Base code. I don't want it in there either. I don't like this mod.
And no mods are going into the 4.0 version base code.

Sorry - I just thought someone might want it as an option to set "allow anonmous access" in the admin panel - off course due to legal issues (responsibility of postings on one´s site), all posts made by anonymous users would have to be moderated/validated by admin or an moderator before they appear - but well - I get your point.
One mod that I think should be implemented at one point or another is an integrated version of Huw´s File upload. You should be able to set it to on/off in the admin panel + be able to control filetypes/size and more from there too...reasons:
1. many of us use it as a standard feature, but have a hell of a time setting it up (it´s quite complicated to newbies) when Snitz is updated.
2. Par example, my site is an internal intranet solution to our 4 commune schools. The kids (and computer novices) can figure out to press the button and select a local imagepath, like they do when opening a normal document, but the img tags + saving it on the webdrive is far to complicated for them. - As it is now, every user who wants to post a picture will have to find a hosting solution for each picture, and that´s too much to ask from kids and old housewifes, I think.
would this be a future option for snitz, ya think, D?

No mods will be included in the base code now. Later down in the development stage, we will be including mods into the base code.

has this been tested with SQL2000? I am getting this error:
Error Type: (0x80020009) Exception occurred. /snitz33a/inc_functions.asp, line 74
Line 74 has some Anonymous Access code which reads:
function getGuestID() '##Forum SQL strSql = "SELECT " & strTablePrefix & "CONFIG_NEW.C_VALUE " strSql = strSql & " FROM " & strTablePrefix & "CONFIG_NEW " strSql = strSql & " WHERE " & strTablePrefix & "CONFIG_NEW.C_VARIABLE = 'strGuest'" set rsAnon = my_Conn.Execute (strSql) getGuestID = cint(rsAnon("C_VALUE")) rsAnon.close set rsAnon = nothing end function

hi Davio, I downloaded the davio_snitz_forum. Will you be adding the "add image in posting" mod to it any time soon???
If you will, I shall wait for it. I read the instructions of the mod installation and fear I might mess it up. Else I might have to do it myself...

add image in posting?
You can already put an image in your posts, if you have allow images on in your admin configuration.
