hi,
i've had a snitz board up and running for a couple of months now. checked it today and it comes up with the error
quote:
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'

Cannot open database ''. It may not be a database that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt.

/message/inc_top.asp, line 42

as far as i know noone has touched any of the files on the server and everything has been running smoothly 'til now.

anyone got any suggestions for whats wrong???

the board can be found at (or at least could be) http://www.israworld.com/message

cheers all

Try downloading your database, repairing it and compacting it, then re-upload it, only thing i can think off, you might have to ask richard about it if that doesnt work

Regards,

Spoon, (ya all love me right?)

thanks for taking the trouble to reply, spoon. thankfully panic over, everything was back up as norm today. what happened? something i'm asking myself. what was weird is that the rest of the site went unaffected, just the board. as those americans say, 'go figure'.

cheers

Often your error is a sign of a server problem, specifically connecting to the database. The rest of your site may not have any database code, at least not on the connection to the Snitz db, so it may work fine.

I believe the error is a sign of not enough db connection resources on the web server.
