Is it possible to rename the access database( something less than 10 characters like sf2000) as long as I edit the config.asp to reflect the file name change? Or is the file name snitz_forums_2000.mdb referenced in other .asp files too?

It is highly recommended that you do rename the access database to something other than snitz_forums_2000.mdb for security reasons. You can use as many characters and #'s as you want (ie: 3691diu4378szfw1) and you are right, as long as you edit config.asp to reflect the filename change.
