Mod Name: Smilies
Adds more smilies to the standard smile selection window. The table of smilies are stored in a table in your Snitz database, which points to the file in a Web-accessable "/smilies" directory.

Comments:
Only tested on Access for now. Will require manually importing a table into the database. Also requires editing of several forum files.

Hello
I get this error when I click on the smilies button.
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e37'
The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot find the input table or query 'FORUM_SMILIES'. Make sure it exists and that its name is spelled correctly.
/ciced/Community/forum/pop_icon_legend.asp, line 49
I think I done everything correctly. Can anyone tell me what went wrong?

Yeah m8. You havent added the table in your database like it ses in the readme. :)

Look in the zip there's a file called smilies.mdb, open it and export the table to your snitz db.

Its very nice of you to make a mod for the forum, but it takes over 2 mins for the average user, just for the smiles page to load.

Oh I did upload the smilies.mbd into the forum directory.
And you don't have to have all the smilies in there. You can easily edit them or add some. It's very versatile if I can ever get it to work.

You need to import the table contained in smilies.mdb into the main forum database as stated in the readme.
As far as load times goes, you can trim the smilies list simply by removing records from the database. I am currently working on a new version which allows the smilies to be "paged", so instead of all at once, you get a few at a time...Don't know when I'll be done with it though...

Open your forum database in Access. Go to File|Get External Data|Import. Select the smilies database and hit "Open". Import the FORUM_SMILIES table, data and structure. Note: if you have changed your defualt forum prefix, rename the Smilies table accordingly. For more info on importing/exporting, see the Access help.

Thanks but now all the new smilies don't work.
I get a box with a red cross in them.

Looks like you must have the in a different directory to where the html is pointing to. Look at the outputted HTML and verify.

Please read the readme.txt file. Also, verify that the proper forum URL is set in the Admin section, and that it ends in a "/" as it should. View the source of the smilie popup box. What do the image tags look like?
