Hello,

I have a problem with my guestbook. I Lorque administered with an email address to receive notification that my guestbook to receive a message. I am receiving an error saying my email address is not valid. And that since the installation of the 3407 version of forum

If someone has a solution, I'm interested.

Thanks. That is an issue. I am on the board of a Non Profit and we had the same experience with our previous guest book.

Had it running for about a month. When I realized it should be renamed from "GuestBook" to "SpamMagnet," I removed it.

Does anyone have this running, so I can share a sample with my community before we try? The developer is now off line.

Hello All,

I've been using this great mod for a few years years now, and I was wondering if anybody knows how to add the number of post's in the guestbook to the total number of posts for the forum ?

Also, does anybody know how if somebody makes a post in the guestbook, it will appear in the active topics ?

Thanks people :o)

His website is still showing an error...

Luckily someone was nice enough to email me the MOD. Looks like I'm FINALLY in business today!
It took quite a bit of troubleshooting once I installed the MOD. I couldn't edit inc_header.asp at all, since I already had a Guestbook. Also I had to significantly change the line of code on admin_guestbook.asp that was provided it in.<

At the time he'd posted, OWM's site was giving an error when you followed the download link in the OP. Seems fine now.<
Shaggy Posted - 07 March 2008 : 04:27:03
Nothing to do with OWM's code; everything you need to know about the problem and how to fix it is in the error message.

He disabled the email forum due to spam.

I sent him a PM... I don't know if he checks it anymore.

I'm praying that someone around here has downloaded his mod and can email it to me. <

Have you tried to e-mail OneWayMule via the forum to let him know that there is a problem? Its not like we can fix it...<

Here's the script error that I see reguardless of the machine I'm on:

quote:
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'

'W:\Clients\MReis\db\ows.mdb' is not a valid path. Make sure that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to the server on which the file resides.

The download link no longer works... The #downloads secion has a script error. I REALLY need this MOD since my guestbook is flooded with spam, and is only getting worse!<

Was this mod changed to send the Notification Email only after signaures are approved? I'd like to send the email only after approved but it still sends out the email before approval.

Yes, the latest version sends the email after a signature is approved.

Just a small suggestion: apparently this mod does not use the tag rel="nofollow" on hyperlinks that google recommends to limit content spam; see http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2005/01/preventing-comment-spam.html
maybe it would be a good addition

Will take a look at that, thanks!

Only things that won't work are the edit and delete functions. For some reason I click them and it just basically refreshes the page.

Any ideas would be great

Which version of the MOD are you using?
Also, as noted in the first post of this thread, I prefer answering support questions in the "Help: MOD Implementation" forum. Thank you.<

Hey, I have it in place and most of the features work so far that I can tell.

Only things that won't work are the edit and delete functions. For some reason I click them and it just basically refreshes the page.

Any ideas would be great

Thanks,
