Posted - 31 October 2006 : 09:22:16 I was contaced by a very annoyed member today as they forgot their deatails ie, username and password. (also joined in 2004 and had never returened till now).
Forgot password will not work as theu lost both username and password.
This person was very rude as they could not rejoin as the site. As their e-mail address as it was already used....
LOL I'll love to post the transcript of the e-mails to date.
But i did say I'll enquire of a way of requesting a new password or tempery access for "Forgot Password?" section with just the e-mail address.
I've searched quickly but nothing from what i can see.
Any help with this problem would be welcomed!!

Posted - 31 October 2006 : 13:13:14 Richard wrote an alternative version of password.asp for (I think) v3.4.04 which'll do what you want; you'll find it with a quick search here.
If that tool thinks your site is run so poorly, why is the hell does he want to return - keep an eye on him, he sounds like trouble

what a dork!
I have seen it discussed before, but whether or not a MOD was written I couldn't say, may be worth a quick look on www.snitzbitz.com< |

Posted - 31 October 2006 : 09:46:33 well, I know what my answer to them would be, and it would almost certainly be ruder than their email to you
in the admin section there is a member search facility where you (the admin) can search for a member by email, you can then inform the stupid idiot of the username they chose when registering so that they can retrieve their password< |
