The Forum has been Updated

A client of mine plan to start a community for industrial energy efficiency-experts on a commercial basis. The idea came originally from me after a couple of years experiencing Snitz for a electricity consumer community (no longer active because of other commitments).
I believe that Snitz would do very well if it spoke Swedish and I spoke ASP
I would really appreciate any hints about forums that could be the answer of our prayers. My client is prepared to pay well for an advanced forum with great support.<

Thank you, that's the one I used for my forum and made me a Snitz-fan. (It's a pity that Image and the Snitzers don't seem to like each other) However it is still not a commercial service/product suitable for my clients needs because they ask for a forum with all features for their purposes on the shelf and a commercial agreement with corresponding support which should only be needed in exceptional cases.<

While Snitz is suitable for your client's needs, it probably isn't suitable for their wants as there's no sponsoring company like Canonical/Ubuntu. You're going to be hard pressed to get any kind of "commercial agreement with corresponding support" with any edition of Snitz from anyone.
I would let them know that there are a number of businesses that use Snitz as a commercial product, and that the support forums are no better or worse than you're likely to get from a company. (in a lot of cases, better than what you'll get from a company) In fact, I later found out that a commercial product I'd looked into instead of using my home-grown LMS had a 2-week outage and nobody answered the frantic calls from the three other educators I was talking to. Point being, a "commercial agreement" isn't always what its cracked up to be.
The image thing is best left alone.<

A, point taken. I am daily (OK, I am here almost every day without a running forum of my own- strange addiction, isn´t it?
) impressed by support on Snitz, you seldom find pay-support of any kind as quick and adequate as on this forum.
However making Snitz speak Swedish and finding someone her with the skills and time for modifications is not an option no matter how much I would like that. That is why I look for other options.<

there is a .net version under development that supports languages. It is not yet have as many bells and whistles as the current ASP version, but it is usable as fairly standard forum, maybe you would like to check it out.
