And 11 months ago, I got no response from you to continue this. http://www.snitzbitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=431&whichpage=2
With lack of help from yourself and from the host, I couldn't get much further.
The project is still open if you have the time to help out. And it would be nice to see my co-operation be reflected on your site. Particularly where it says you have had no success getting it on snitzbitz and that gotten no where with the administration on snitzbitz.< |

My intention is *not* to get into a 'urinating' contest.. Rather, I simply would like to see this valuable tool made available for use to the Snitz community. I want no credit... you may have it all.
My email (Subject: SnitzBitz On-line Database) sent 1/4/08:
quote:
I apologize for the length of this email, but quickest way for me to get the info to you.
1. You will need to modify the red code found in moddb.asp Path needs to be changed to match your server folder structure. objvbsMOD( "MdbPath" ) = "../fpdb/mod.mdb" objvbsMOD( "Sql" ) = "SELECT * FROM tblData"
' **** Declare global settings **** objvbsMOD( "GlobalId" ) = "mod" objvbsMOD( "GlobalCSS" ) = "/style/pmo.css" objvbsMOD( "GlobalImageDir" ) = "../images/"
2. Following files included in ZIP: a. Default.asp – Only an EXAMPLE of how the database can be incorporated into SnitzBitz. It ‘includes’ moddb.asp for data display. b. Moddb.asp – Page based on VBSdb that displays data There is much more info I can pass along, but time and space (this email) do not permit that. Ex: If you have a login process, you can allow data EDIT/ADD based on permission. c. Pmo.css – style sheet (Should be renamed to your choice; change code in #1 above to match name d. All other files in this ZIP were captured from your website. None are needed to make moddb.asp function. They are included solely to allow you to set up same demo that I have here. e. Modcheck.asp – A non-working EXAMPLE of how I use permissions to allow/deny web page/data access. This page is ‘included’ in any page I wish to protect via permissions. It is NOT needed for MOD database to work. f. navinfo.asp – A ‘popup’ (new browser window) to explain the search results ‘position’ info. Link on demo default.asp page opens this page.
3. I don’t intend to just dump this on you. I am more than willing to help you tweak the web pages to suit you. But I don’t want to bother you… so I won’t send a lot of emails. I am counting on YOU letting me know what you want me to do. Since I am more familiar with VBSdb, I’m willing to tailor that to your needs.
Okay… that’s it. I’m kind of burned out tonight. Hope I didn’t forget anything major!! Please don’t be bashful!!
Regards

My email (Subject: ZIP file) sent 12/22/07 at 2:55PM: All ASP files needed to implement on-line database included in ZIP attachment
Do you need any additional information? If so, let me know. I have a good action audit trail.
[Edit follows] BTW... Wasn't there another reply to this topic?? ...from SiSL?? < |

I am not looking for any credit. I am just disappointed at the numerous reference to "SnitzBitz Administration" being the bottle neck as to why this invaluable tool has not been put up on the site.
I did get that email then. My posts in our hidden forum on SnitzBitz was made after that email, asking you for more assistance with the script. I asked again for your help 1 month later and got no response.
If you're willing to respond to the last posts I made in the topic on the SnitzBitz forum, I can take a look at the code again and work to getting it up on the site.
I am in full agreement with you that the script is invaluable and would love to see it up on the site. But I can't do it without your co-operation.< |

Looks like we both have the same perspective...
If I did not think this idea (searchable, on-line MOD database) would be a major advantage for the Snitz community and your MOD website, I would not have resurrected the topic.
I would be pleased to assist. Please assess where we are on this initiative, what issues/problems do you see, and what do you need help with. I will do all I can to provide the necessary assistance.
Communications via email works best for me. [Please note: I *cannot* access the Snitz forum or SnitzBitz website while at work.] If you wish to defer until after the holidays, that makes perfect sense to me. You are the project leader.
Happy Holidays
