Wow this has to be the greatest relay in olympics history. From the french running their mouths to Leznek or however you spell it catching Bernard the one running his mouth a full body length in the final 50 meters.
Wow that was great. < |

yes watched it, the final leg was just awesome, but the womens 400m was even better , first womens swimming gold medal for GB in 48 years, and we got the bronze too, bloody amazing (and that was their second stream events, addlington is an 800m swimmer and jackson a 200m), just shows what funding can do for a sport.
Swimming is my favorite Olympic sport as I was a competitive swimmer in my teens. Getting up at 3am to watch it is a bit of a killer though.

Huwr, did you see Rebecca swim?
Britain's Rebecca Adlington set a new world record as she clinched her second swimming gold medal in Beijing with victory in the 800m freestyle. The 19-year-old destroyed the rest of the field as she finished 2.12 seconds inside the previous world best. Adlington became the first British woman to claim gold since Anita Lonsbrough in 1960 with her 400m freestyle victory, and success in the 800m freestyle makes her the most successful British swimmer of the last 100 years
Ney bad, Mr Wilks!< |

The Olimpic swimming competition has been fantastic, because of Phelps, of course, but not only because of him. Many other events were wonderful to watch and some other magnicificent performances have happened. At 19, "your" Rebecca seems to have a shinning future ahead of her.< |

I usually don't watch many sport events on screen - except occasional Golf (and of couse, NE Patriots and Boston Red Sox games). but Olympics has been special. I always enjoy watching swimming and gymnastics... just amazing how atheletes these days get younger and better. For swimming, I used to be in a swimming team at high school and did short-distance competition, so I tend to watch swimmers' forms... looking for that perpect movements.. I realized Phelps shoe size is twice of mine, and China's He who won Gold in gymnastics is 5'3" - the same height as me - and weigh 35 pounds less: gosh, must be just bones/mustcles - no extra F in the body! This Olympics beside "politics" surrounded it before it opened, has been awesome.< |

Huwr Quote"Usain Bolt was just phenomenal in the 100m" Just amazing what time would he have achieved if he didn't slow down after 60m for a cuppa!!
The only thing that, so far, has spoilt the Chinese Olympics, the poor little girl who supposingly sang on the Opening, was not in view, because she was not considered pretty enough! How cruel! We like to see the world as it is, not painted into something it isn't. Likewise with the opening day fireworks, being computer generated,,, A photo never lies, Oh Yes it does.. Remember Prince William being changed on the Royal Wedding photographs of Prince Edward and Sophie. Just because he was not smiling, the editors changed his face for a smiliey image. tut!

These Olympics have been amazing. I have enjoyed watching all the events but watching phelps has been a truly amazing thing. I mean he couldn't have done it without some help and I don't think his mystique would be as great without the French and Cavic.
But there have been great stories all around. I know I may not agree with everything the Chinese do but at the same time it doesn't matter they do have a great culture all around and no one country is without it's flaws < |

Phew! What a British Gold rush today, now we have cycling 7 golds in a total of 10 events. It would be absolutely 'perfick' if our Government under Brown could put in a Golden performance. They just about qualify or deserve the wooden spoon I am afraid!< |

Usain "Lightning" Bolt ran incredibly well didn't he? So did the rest of the Jamaican track & field team. As can imagine, everyone here is elated. Even the gunmen have put down their guns to enjoy the olympics. Crime has been over the course of the olympics.
We looking forward to their return as there is going to be some big celebrations across the island. Also everyone looking forward to a national holiday being set by the prime minister. < |
