This type of forum may not be the best choice for you if you (or a friend) isn't capable of manipulating a bit of code. Even with a base install there are periodic security updates that need to be coded, and periodic maintenance/backup of the forum and database.
Consider something like Yahoo Groups if you want to approach zero installation and low maintenance.

If you host offers u ASP then it's very easy to install and will only take 10 mins once the files have been uploaded. When i first used this i had on experance of ASP code.
