I did the same thing and I am experiencing the same exact problem.

Do you by any chance have MS Visual Web Dev 2005 Express Installed ?<

I like this. There's still some CSS issues (which will probably never be sorted) but overall, a vast improvement over IE6. To me, the tabbing seems better integrated than in Firefox.<

No I didn't. I just rebooted my machine and started shutting down a bunch of non-essential services. After about 20 minutes of watching the installer, it eventually did install. I had a similar experience with a fresh install of XP on my kids machine. I waited for about 40 minutes before I was prompted with a message that I needed the latest Windows Updater file.<

Anything in particular, Mark, or just general "quirkiness"?

Well, tried about a dozen times (having to reboot inbetween each attempt) but still no joy, I'm really annoyed because I was getting to really like it, and now the beta won't re-install either, so am stuck with IE6 <

General 'quirkiness'. I'm doing some designing in CSS right now and there's still a bunch of <!--[if IE ]><![endif]--> that are needed to get it looking correct. Mostly margin and padding issues. Why MS can't fix basic issues like this is anyone's guess.<

I haven't found any CSS issues with the sites I've built. However, I am noticing that my GMail account will not load up. Maybe just a temporary issue with GMail but figured I'd ask if anyone else is having difficulty loading up GMail with IE7.<

Sounds to me like I'll stick with Maxthon.

Anyone played around with Vista yet?<

Well, I've only had that with Maxthon, not with IE7. <

2. things.

1. all you Microsoft bandwagon haters are really silly.
2. if no one tests the beta versions, it will never be released.

and remember, the bigger you become, the bigger the target. I don't want to turn this into a Microsoft versus anything debate but I don't have half the problems that people complain about because I am very security conscience as a whole. I guarantee you that if Opera or Firefox was as big as Internet Explorer, there would be more hacker kiddies out there attacking it. anyway, let me get off my soap box. this thread was about the release of IE7, not if you like the company or not.<
