Hi guys...
I am trying to convert my Database file to Access 2000 file... but it doesn't seem to work.
The forum runs fine by itself but whenever I try to convert the file... the forum doesn't work.

Thanks a lot.

I converted the DB with Access2000.
After going to the forum I get this error:

Error Type:
Microsoft JET Database Engine (0x80004005)
The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file 'c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\Francis\db\db.mdb'. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.

help!

Make sure you've exited Access once you've converted it. You can't have it open and run the forums at the same time...

I know...I've closed Access but I still get this error. If you have you DB open in Access you can see a 'Lock' file in your DB directory...it's gone when you close Access. Isn't there a way to not lock your DB when you are opening your DB in Access? If I have restarted my computer the DB isn't locked anymore and the forum works...

Hey Frenkie B.
Where are you running your database from...
I mean after I convert the database I upload it to my host then I run it...
So... there are no away that it can be opened by another user and then something be wrong with it...
Hey RaiderUK,
I tried too much...
can you convert the database for me and test to see if runs or not... and then email the database file to me?
A brand-new database will do...
Also.. I can't put password protection on the database...
Please help.
Thanks.

I'm just testing the messageboard on my own computer...as localhost under IIS. But everything is working now. I copied the db to another directory. Made some changes. Copied it back to it's original directory and now I can make changes in that directory without having the db locked like in the previous situation. It's working now like it's supposed to work. Really strange...but thanx for your help!
