Hi, I have just tried to set up the forum on a local intranet. I can navigate to the homepage and then get this message when selecting any option:
Provider error '80004005'

Unspecified error

/messageboard/inc_top.asp, line 42

Has anyone any ideas???

I have checked permissions and all seems ok. Myself as administrator can log on, both as myself and as administrator. I can create new accounts from my station. The problem seems to occur when creating an account from another station.
Provider error number is always displayed, though the path displayed and the line number sometimes changes.
Is it imperative that an email account is setup on the web server? Is there any way I can operate the forum without reference to email? as I think this is where the problem may be occuring.

Does anyone agree? all ideas welcome.

More info::
I am also setting this up through proxy to the web server using my local acount on that machine. When checking the server information I can see that the authorised user, logon user and remote user are all set to my local account. Should this be so?
