I just browsed through Access 2000 and I saw that you can compact a database. As a result it should give better performance and the db should use less space.

What does that compact-feature really do? Can I safely compact my Snitz Forums db?

Thanks in advance!

compacting is only effective if you have a lot of deleted information in your database, and are thefore wasting space.

I just tried to compact my Snitz db, the size got reduced from 3.50MB to 3.04MB.

Thanks for your reply.
