When looking at a post it says "X" replies, but when I click on the post I only see the original post and not the replies! I have selected "Show all topics", it makes no difference changing to "show topics from last year" either.

The strange thing is that the replies are stored in the database, if I click "reply to topic" I can read the replies below the reply form and the original post.

What's the problem with my forum? I'm running v 3.1 SR4. http://vinthund.se/forum/default.asp

I have also noted that when posting a reply and clicking on preview, it says "There is no text to preview", despite that I have written text in the reply form.

Have you made any modifications to your forum at all?

What database are you using?

strDBType = "access"

I'm using a DSN connection.

SERVER_SOFTWARE:
Apache/1.3.19 (Unix) mod_jk PHP/4.0.4pl1 mod_ssl/2.8.2 OpenSSL/0.9.6a FrontPage/4.0.4.3

ASP_VERSION:
CHILI!ASP/DISPINT10 (3.6.0.809; Mar 28 2001)

Only modifications are the colors and pictures. My ISP did a upgrade of the asp engine on the webserver a few weeks ago, I think the problem began after that. Before the upgrade the forum was very unstable, got an error message from the server every secon click or so. It's working fine now except that the reply messages don't show, but they are stored in the database.

Count Update Complete

I updated from v3.1 SR2 to SR4 yesterday and this error wasn't fixed. Is there something wrong with my database file?

I have reinstalled the forum with the same results. I therefore think there must be an error on my databasefile.

Can anyone verify that the see the same error on the forum?
http://vinthund.se/forum/default.asp. I can't see any replies except when I click reply on a topic and gets the TOPIC REVIEW below this reply form.
Can anyone then take a look at my database file and see if there is something in error with it? Please let me know and I'll email it to you.

-Thanks

It must be an issue with your connection to the database.

You have a unique situation. You are being hosted on a Unix webhost but have a DSN connection to an Access DB. Access Databases cannot reside on a Unix Filesystem, so your host must have a Windows Server setup to host the Access Databases on. I am not familiar with this setup at all.

That's correct. There is a Windows 2000 server where I upload my database, but a Unix server where my forum files are stored. Apparently they manage to do a DSN connection from the Unix server to the Windows server.

Unfortunately that's all I know about this...It did work in the beginning though... I don't know enough myself about databaseconnections to know where I'm likely to find a solution to the problem. It seemse to me that somehow the reply topics aren't displayed, this is a function in the forum where only topics in a defined period of time is shown, however it doesn't matter if you choose to show topics from the last day or the last year, all the replies are hidden anyway.

Question: Should the field T_LAST_POSTER be "0" on all lite items in the REPLY table?

Can anyone answer this question? And maybe take a look at my db file to see if the posts are stored correctly. Thanks...

Ok, seemes that the Chili!Asp doesn't work with Access.. rs.cachesize and rs.absolutepage is not working anyway.

Oh well, time to upgrade to MySql... and I was hoping to see the game Sweden - Russia on TV tonight!
