Here is the theill.com chat modified to use the snitz DB for login, their are no mod functions or anything but people can chat using their usernames and stuff.
The chat requires the global.asa so if your on freebie sorry.
Here is the link
http://www.msay.com/hchat.zip
It should work with SQL and access db's

How did you get the different room list? I like that feature. Does nayone know how to make a private message display once a user has entered the room that can be modified by the admin from a db?
I have a working chat room that checks to see if your logged into snitz first, if not you must and your username equals the one in the snitz db. No demo yet, it's still local.
I also added a rotating banner with backend management of all banners to the chatboard.

Morpheus73,
It will not allow for a demo as it is intergrated with Snitz to take the current user so as it is a true member chat board. I do have something simular running from the original creators of it at Demo here if you want to check it out.

Thanks XavierSlater for taking the storage.

Why is it a file path and not virtual?

This is probably your problem, it can't find the included config.asp.

Well.. I have the frame based, no Database chat from here (chat.zip) running and modified, but it just don't cut it for me.... I like that it pulls the user name from Snitz for auto log-in, but the main text window at the top, with text added at the top of that, and the personal message box between that and the Text Input line is just not what I want. When you add in the annoying screen flashes every time it updates, it just won't do for my purpose, but I thank the maker for sharing it.
I tried the other one (rymfax's), with the "fancy site based frames", and it loads up, but I can't post to it and just repeast the "user loged in" voice thing. The format is great. Latestest chat text at the bottom of the text screen, and right above the Text Entry line where it should be.
From what I see here, there is also an Hchat that needs a Global.asp entry...
So here are the questions:
Is this hchat requirement the servers main Global.asp I assume, or can you have one in your domain on a server?
Is this hchat good enough that I should contact my provider to add the lines of code?
Is there something better that pulls Snitz 4 user data for login, puts new chat messages at the bottom right above the entry line?

I have Dan Martins chat up and running, but I had to bypass Snitz user login... The he posted above did not contain the inc_authenticate.asp Does anyone has this file, or can tell me what goes in it?
Thanks KC

*cough* I didn't distribute that page because it is proprietary to the authentication I do on my web site. If you read the ASP code, I've commented the necessary steps to integrate it with any type of authentication. If I get time I will perhaps write one that uses Snitz authentication. |

There's a really nice Conquor Chat mod called CoolCafe (www.coolcafe.ca) It's feature rich, and works well enough for an asp based chat.
I use it elsewhere on my site, but the author has promised Snitz integration. However, it's gone a bit quiet on that front. I left a message in his forum a couple of days back, maybe a few more emssages of support would move it up his to-do list a bit

I finally got Conquor Chat working with my version 4 Snitz thanks to the help of rick7165.
Putting the Chat Button and list of who is in to display when the Logoff button displays indicating a regestered user is logged in was a nice touch.
It does a have a problem with logging people off sometimes though. It leaves them showing in the room, and there is no boot option in admin. I suppose a boot option would have been the best, but I just made a copy of the logoff script and changed it to just delete everyone in the room.
After some tweaking, Conquor looks like the one I'll stick with.
