I can't imagine this hasn't been reported before, but I searched for it and have not been able to find anything about this topic.
I tested this in the test forum. I created a topic, made 20 bogus replies, deleted them afterwards and my counter was high emough to get me a star. Self generated troll one can say, but on high volume forums with many different moderators forum behaviour this may mislead people and someone is actually able to 'establish' him/herself without actually bringing any content into the forum(s).
IMO the counter with the # of posts should be reduced as a post by a forum members is deleted. This can of course have several side effects I am not aware of.
