I have a forum setup and the folder color does not seem to be updating properly to make new messages. It seems you have to login, read everything. Then close the brower, then open it, then close it again before it might update the folder color to mark then as not new anymore. Is this normal? The OS is NT, IIS and SQL Server 7.
Yes, this is normal...actually it isn't the "read" colour, but active since last vist colour. Even if you don't read all the topics during a visit, the colour will change when you visit the next time...unless that next time is within 20 minutes or so of your last visit because then the session variable that holds your info hasn't timed out yet.
