Where do you get to edit categories, topics, messages, and members?
I'm at admin_home.asp and have nothing besides configuration options.
I've added my admin account as the moderator for the default test category but can't figure out where to go for editing.
Please help,

if you go to default.asp you will see a column down the right hand side of the table which has icons in it, these are for adding/editing categories and forums.

And why does the login box still show up after I log in?

It is not letting you log in properly, hence the reason you do not have the icons.
Go to admin_home.asp select main configuration, and then change the cookie type, save ant then try to log back in to the forum through default.asp
