First off, version 3rc2. I'm moderator status on my forum. Yeah, all the replies to topics in my section have moved to a single topic? leaving only the origional post in all 260 Topics ? Whats going on and can it be undone ?
Heres more info which may be of relavance ... Carbon Copy :
Hi Hambo, Over the last few days alot of work was done in the FAQ section making more like what an FAQ should be and I spent hours @ It Last night. And I'm sure everyone aggres, But there was a crash earlier and I fear the section might not be recoverable ? In the mean time I locked the forum until i get confirmation of the problem and what can be done about it. The only thing I can think is that I edited the Forum Description But I don't know if that was the cause or if even you or somebody else caused it ? Anyway, I edited the description and changed it but I think What I wrote was too long and it wouldn't accept it. And gave a error something like "####### Error in line 75 data truncated on *****.asp" ... ok I thought and changed it to .. Forums Frequently Asked Questions Ask Questions! Find Information On Forums. Report Bugs Or Connection Problems. DO NOT REQUEST KeyGen's, Crackz, Serialz Or Warez Links! Which updated fine. And then as a test, I tried adding Connection Problems To the description to create a hyperlink for "Connection Problems" which links to the topic "Current Server Connection Info and Forum Problems". @ which point im thinking if it doesnt work the worst it could do is messup the display or jump to that page. Anyway found doesn't work but the other forum code does works. it just displayed Ask Questions! Find Information On Forums. Report Bugs Or Connection Problems. DO NOT REQUEST KeyGen's, Crackz, Serialz Or Warez Links!
and the full forum Code for "Connection Problems" in ordinary text. As it looks above. So I changed back to the previous ... Which looked OK again without the long link ... Then later entering the forum I found the same problem zobop encountered on his section a few weeks back. If you visit the FAQ section You will see that all the replies of each topic have moved location to > http://www.8bn.com/hambo/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=41981&FORUM_ID=7&CAT_ID=3&Replies=0 (Hambo read this message ! ) Which displays 18 pages x 15 rows of replies Leaving only one origional post in each topic. Which I'm courious about because Anything I'v done was nowhere near the Topic posted by illuminated and editing the forums description shouldn't I persume change any of the reply information contained within the DB. Anyway it might be something simple and it might not which is a shame because anyone can tell you how good the section was starting to get. I'm going now to find out more info @ Snitz to see what can be done if anything ... I'm not even sure If I'm @ fault here because this happened to Zobop and he didn't report anything about editing the forum description and also @ least 2 post were made during the time I was editing the description. Its most lightly to be a forum Bug since this has happened twice without warning.
If you can slove the problem or have any information which can help It would be much appreicated. Thanks. Toxic |

Any more on this ? I discovered the forum still functions @ normal ... If the problem cant be reversed ... the best option would be to change all the reply stats to zero since all the origional topics are still present ...
Anybody got a script for doing this ? Don't forgrt v3rc2 ... Thanks ..
