Huw,
Sorry to drive you nuts! I did send you that email. Everything is ok now, it took over 5 hours for the variables to update, something with the server???? Of course I ran setup.asp which did nothing to update them.
This has been the most straight forward mod to implement, you did a great job! Did you happen to figure out my new member PM issue?

Since all members have to resubmit their profiles it may be beneficial for you to change your database FORUM_MEMBERS table initialy to the forums time zone. You can do a find & replace all in field M_STRTIMEAD.
ex: find 31(default) replace with 26 (est)
Just my .02

?????
The field should get created with a default value of 31 this is correct (defaulting to GMT) if the user does not resubmit their profile then the code will automatically use the forums timezone whatever that may be, so you shouldn't need to make any changes to the db

Huw,
Every time someone posted it was in GMT not the forums timezone (for those that did not update their prolile) Maybe I did something wrong...wouldn't be the first time! Changing the DB did correct my problem. |

NO ,actually I think it was me, my inetion was that if it didn't find a cookie, it then used the forum timezone, what I think I actually did was if there is no cookie, then get it from the db. I will check, and maybe offer an admin option to choose either default to GMT or default to FORUM timezone.

dd you noticed that on your test site, no PM is displayed? I thought it's in the morning. maybe 24h format will be better or let the user to choose.
