I just want to bump this question at the top because now is July 17th, and how is the new release, can it be done this week or some time later?

Okay, I'm also building up my site with this Forum. And I'd be very interested in having a possibility to let Anonymous people post in the forums. It's essential. So, is there someone writing a MOD for that? Are do I need no MOD, is it an option in the normal Forum code? |

This is getting really annoying. Everyday I check this topic to see if there is a new post. Everytime I see the same thing, "When will the new version be released?" As if no one has asked that question before.
Please, everyone, give us all a break and quit asking this question. The new version will be available when they get done with it.

Question. In the new version. If a user do not logg in in (for example) three months. Is he going to be deleted then? I think this is a importent function.
If not, do you guys think anyone will build a MOD like this?

Did you ever here the saying an Informed customer is a happy customer? Some of us have changes to be made to our current forums which have been put off in hope's of this new release. If we had an estimate we could make the decision to hold off on any new changes.

Good point. But it only needs to be asked once.

If you were paying for this forum, I'd be a bit more inclined to say that you should be allowed to be upset about not being informed. However, everyone on the development team is doing this because they WANT to, and they do it in their own FREE time. No one is a full-time Snitz employee.
Understand that the reason most of the developers continue to do what they do is because they get great enjoyment out of seeing people able to use something that they've given them...given them for free.
Yes, versions have been promised. Yes, they've missed some deadlines. But ya know what? So what?! Deadlines are missed every day, let alone in the arenas that are conducted on free-will. I'm anxious too, but I've seen the replies that it's not done yet. That's pretty straight forward to me. People have very busy lives and if you keep pestering, all it does is demotivate someone to actually get something done.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy what's been given to you. Bigger and better things will come in time. You also need to look at the fact that in very few software arenas (especially the paid-for ones) will you ever see development happen at the rate that it does here. If you don't believe me, keep an eye on THIS forum for a couple weeks.

Hey all,
Good news and bad news... the bad news first...
I have realized in the last month, that I have been working on this project for over two years, and never implimented it on a site besides this one, and this one was technicaly maintained by the rest of the support staff after version 3.0. Needless to say, I've been working on a gaming site (http://www.freeworldsleague.com) with some other guys and the forum is an integral part of that site, and I too have been anxiously awaiting the new release so that I too can customize the inc_top.asp and inc_footer.asp so that it fits well in that site! But I've had to wait with the rest of you...
Good news, Aproximate ETA is here. Earliest release date will be this weekend, latest will be next. Things are looking quite good for this weekend, but there is always that unseen bug that says "FIX ME"...
Fingers crossed campers... the new version is in sight!

Very well said jeep. VERY WELL said.
Being a programmer by nature ( working for a somewhat small company out in the boonies of California ) I know all too well what it is like to project a release date, get close to it, find numerous show stopping bugs, and have to re-eval your release date. We get paid doing this sort of thing day in and day out, and we have had to push back release dates as much as 1 year before.
The base code developers, the mod developers, and the guys that just help with snipets of code here and there all work their butts off in real life ( to pay the bills ) then they come home and work on this in their spare/free time.
There are great people working on this project, so know that it will get done and get done well.

TERRIFIC news on the forums, thanks for the update and the hard work!!!
Everyone, don't be too hard on the people anxious for updates...its just an indication that people love the forum! Many of us like it so much we are planning our entire web pages around it. I'm one of those guys getting ready to do that, but like others I don't want to go through installing all those mods on an older version when the new Snitz is almost ready for release.
Looking forward to the new forum (hopefully over the weekend!!!)
Will the new forum fix the security breaches with the image tags, etc. mentioned elsewhere?
