can anyone tell me WHERE to find the code that removes text like ' - ~ ` ", and I assume some other nefarious ones in POSTS?

I assume this is a security thing but since I have a closed forum I can take that chance.

It may be I did this myself at some time in a security patch gone wrong or whatever, but I just can't remember.

I have the brain lock...

ANY help (after looking for MONTHS) would be most appreciated

Could also be in the bad words function in the admin panel, but HuwR's correct - I'd say most likely in "inc_func_common.asp".

I looked and there is SO much stuff (mostly from a video mod, which I suspect)...

I'm not even sure now what I SHOULD be looking for! lol

I want the video option or I'd kill the whole page and go with the new version.

There ins't any code that removes those chars in posts, only when they are in href links, is this what you mean ?

this the functions that remove them are ReplaceURLs, ReplaceImageTags & edit_hrefs in inc_func_common

That's what has been throwing me... It's removing in a plain post. Not URL's, not images...

lol

place has sure gone crazy....

It's gotta be something in the video or other mods..

It even replaces some things with CHRS number stuff.

I will keep poking at it...

It's been like this so long I can't tell you...

I think... it's a combination of a link shrinker AND video mod(s)...

Pretty much a "mess o code" lol

I fight with it every now and then.

thing is I WANT both those mods so I leave it.
