Hi There,

I want to create a small Forum but i need two Mods.

"Private Messages Mod" and "Attachments Mod".
The Site "Snitzbitz" seems to be Down.

Does anyone still have these Mods and will "Snitzbitz"
come back on?

Hi,

Also is there a "Top 5" / "last 5 Threads" Mod ?
And can you display the last Thread on the Index and not only the Date when the last posting was?

AND:

Where can i set the "Posting Permissions" for Usergroups?
(If they can Post Threads, Postings usw...

And can you Set them Specifically for individual forums?

Hope someone can help me ;)

Let's break this down a bit. First, SnitzBitz is back online.

Try the "Active Users" mod.

The Usergroups mod does not have "posting permissions" for forums, it simply allows you to group members and turn access to forums on/off as a group (rather than having to add/delete individual members). You can set them specifically within the forum edit function or from the Usergroups admin page. There are a lot of sub-mods to the Usergroups mod which add additional capabilities (e.g., group emailing, limiting access based upon age, confining misbehaving members to a single forum until their behavior is corrected, allowing members to join/quit specified groups without administrator intervention, etc.).

Hi,

What exactly does the "Active Users" Mod do? I cant find a description...
Is it REALLY a Mod that puts a "Last 5 postings" box on the index page of the Forum?

----

Usergroups Mod is nice but i dont want that the Users dont can visit the Forums, they just should only can "read"
in these forums, dont post... Is there ANY Mod or option i can make this happen?

SnitzBitz.com seems to be working fine now.

You should find the items that you are after at:

Private Messages (but I am sure that there is a more up to date one somewhere else): http://www.snitzbitz.com/mods/details.asp?Version=All&mid=62

Here are 2 different file attachment mods:
Mikes File Attachment: http://www.snitzbitz.com/mods/details.asp?Version=All&mid=67
Proders File Attachment: http://www.snitzbitz.com/mods/details.asp?Version=All&mid=199

The "Syndicate Mod" may do what you want with the last 5 postings, but it depends on what you mean by "index page": http://www.snitzbitz.com/mods/details.asp?Version=All&mid=195

And last but not least, here is the Usergroups Mod: http://www.snitzbitz.com/mods/details.asp?Version=All&mid=270

They all come with instructions, but if you have issues search in the Help: MOD Implementation area for a solution and if there is none, post a question and someone will help.

Cheers,

David Greening

I don't think so, but it wouldn't be difficult to write such a mod. Do you want it for a particular forum or do you want to be able to specify multiple forums for this condition?

As for the Active Users mod, no, it has a separate page which opens displaying only the topics which have had activity since your last visit (or specified date range). If you want a mod simply to add a table of the last five topics with activity, that would be easy enough.

No, the syndicate mod works similarly to an RSS feed type application. I think he's looking for something to add the last five topics to the "default.asp" page.

I need it for more then 1 forum.
If its easy, can you please do a MOD?

----

So is there really no "last 5 posts" MOD for the Index?

Yes, I can write it. I do not believe there is a "last five topics" mod but writing it would be even simpler, so I'll do that one first for you. My memory is horrible, so I'll leave myself a note here to check for forum access before including the topic just in case I forget while writing it.

Last 5 Topics:

In "default.asp", look for the following lines (appx 289-293):

Response.Write	" </tr>" & vbNewline & _
		" <tr>" & vbNewline & _
		" <td bgcolor=""" & strTableBorderColor & """>" & vbNewline & _
		" <table border=""0"" width=""100%"" cellspacing=""1"" cellpadding=""4"">" & vbNewline & _
		" <tr>" & vbNewline & _

Change them to say:

'	##	Last 5 Topics	Below
Response.Write	" </tr>" & vbNewLine & _
	" </table>" & vbNewLine & _
	" <table align=""center"" border=""0"" width=""100%"" cellspacing=""0"" cellpadding=""0"">" & vbNewline& _

Start the next line with "Response.Write"

Next, look for the following line (appx 42):

<!--#INCLUDE FILE="inc_subscription.asp" -->

After that, insert this:

<!--#INCLUDE FILE="inc_func_chknew.asp" -->

Back to your posting permissions issue. Have you tried simply locking the forum(s) in question? Then you can still post/reply but users cannot.

Post a link to a .txt copy of your "default.asp" and I'll adjust it for you.
