Is it possible for a spam bot to automatically create registrations and post without going through register.asp and without being logged in?
We've got an issue at the moment where we are getting numerous new registrations nightly from what appear to be spammers who have registered but not going through the normal process of register.asp We usually receive an email informing us of new registrations which is not happening in their case. Likewise we have email validation on and do not see any of their registrations awaiting activation, it's as though they register but skip the registration process
If you have the 3407 forum will read this and installed the anti-spam registration form, make sure required fields. Also control email and one entry per email address. Install the following mods.
Mod Pending Member Email Auto-Ban. removes the member and puts the mail in banishment, if he is still in the waiting list. Otherwise manually possible and remove members in the normal way http://www.snitzbitz.com/mods/details.asp?Version=All&mid=307
