Hello,
Spam registrations member.
Here 15 days that member is part 2 times a day with different emails and different user names, but it still keeps the same Aol address.
And required sex, and date of birth in French of course. But it is written in English that sex should not and no date of birth.
Why mandatory when things are not put on my profile?.
I only accept one entry per member, so I erases all day and I banished email address, but it continues, how to prevent it, there is the mod Ipgate. email addresses registration nose may not be the same etc..
An image of this member starts bugging me a Chinese. With its IP in the southern region of China.

Hi Maxim,
My forum is online since 2005, and I have always had to fight some spammers. However, during the last three weeks I get about 5 new "members" every day, very similar to yours.
All of them say to be living in Lucca, Canada, just as yours.
I've set to On the "Allow Topic Moderation" option, so my real members do not see their posts, but I have to perform a daily cleaning.
Please let me know if you find out some more info.

Okay I'll get on snitzbitz. As I was absent for five days of operations at the hospital, I have only just read your message.
I have hotmail and gmail blocked, it's the E-mail address used. This is a spammer and the same as mine.
I also set registrations moderation, so when I see that it is him, I delete his account and it also blocks their email address. |

I found a mod that has yet solved my problem of registration by a spammer. Install anti spam mod for 3407.
You can change the color of the captcha. Please see the link below:

I added a question to the form to be completed during registration.
In inc_profile.asp around line 325 I added;

I had already activated a captcha, but maybe it was too easy to bypass.
I've now installed the one you suggested.
In a couple of days I will see if it solved this spam issue and I will keep you informed here.

I installed the mod double registration. Which prevents member connected to Register several times in another account.

Hi Maxim,
After I installed the new captcha the number of new spammers has decreased, however some new spammer has registered anyway.
I suppose it's because they register manually.
In the E-mail Server Configuration I've now turned on all the options, including Restrict Registration, which allows you to choose who is able to register on your forum by approving or rejecting their registration.
Let's see what happens. |

Below that you will remove automatiquemeent from the waiting list and ban the email addresses of members that do not want to monitor IP see if it looks.
Mod Pending Member Email Auto-Ban. removes the member and puts the mail in banishment, if he is still in the waiting list. Otherwise manually possible and remove members in the normal way

My Chinese returned after a long absence and some chmaps its filled with male, while I man is in French.
For me there is a security hole somewhere either code or a forum mod, but know that I know.
if someone has the same problem as me it would be nice to say what he put parade.
Here is one of the post that I had already thought about it and have countered with captcha. |

Do you have a solution for this problem is exactly what is happening on the picture presented here. This user does not fill fields such as sex, he marked male, while man is in French. Do you think it filled the registration form via derrère and up squarely to the database, as I know nothing of it, I want you to find me a solution, or a mod that allows this kind attack. |

this sounds like they are constructing the POST form outside of the forum and then just submitting it.
Pretty sure there used to be a MOD around which helped to combat this, basically what you need to do is add a hidden field to the registration form and populate it with a random string which you can then check for when the form is posted, this should prevent the form being posted from outside the forum
actually the forum is supposed to be doing that anyway ?? |
