I've had several people complain that they cannot see the .gif image created by the CAPTCHA Mod when registering and also trying to email other members through the forum.

It appears that users using Google Chrome as their browser cannot view the image as Chrome does not recognise the CAPTCHA image

Here is a link to the mod: http://www.snitzbitz.com/mods/details.asp?Version=All&mid=230

Are there any modifications to the mod code that can be made so that the image is recogniseable to Chrome or an alternative is displayed to Chrome users?

Thanks

I removed that mod, Webbo, since the majority of the time it claimed the code was not being entered correctly when it WAS!

The anti-spam question mod (can't think of the exact name of the mod) seems to work great for me.

Is this the one you used MaGraham: http://www.snitzbitz.com/mods/details.asp?Version=All&mid=243

and does it work with the email form as well?

You're welcome, Webbo!

If you decide to use it, I hope it works just as well for you.

I've implemented it, however I also found a few errors with it

If you add the code to post.asp and inc_post.asp it shows the anti spam question when replying to a topic but not logged in.
However if you are logged in it doesn't show the question but then responds with the error message when you submit a post

Edit: I found the fix for this after reading the following thread:
http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=62459

I've removed this part from my post.asp and inc_post.asp files as the member would need to be either logged in or log in to post anyway and I can see the repeated anti spam question becoming a nuisance for my posters

Also, the code changes for pop_mail.asp threw out the tables in my code.
I've sorted that one

Apart from that it seems to work well in all browsers :)

After playing around a bit more and re-adding to post.asp and inc_post.asp adding the fix as per page 3 of the thread linked above, I found that any answer would be recognised when posting and not logged in

...so I removed the code again

In principal for registrations and emails the Gatekeeper mod does what it says on the tin; however the mod needs the changes adding to the download and the issue with post.asp and inc_post.asp fixing in order to complete it
