Hello,
I run http://www.monachos.gr site, with a snitz forum at: http://www.monachos.gr/forum
Though very quick when using internet explorer, the forum crawls when visited with mozila firefox web browser.
I don't see any problem with this snitz forum, so something is definately wrong with http://www.monachos.gr/forum
The only thing i can notice is a multiple <scRipT src=></sCrIpt> statement in page source, which i do not know where comes from.
The only mod in the forum is the site integration mod Forum runs in mssql database
Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong?
Thank you very much in advance.

This is probably a problem with your FireFox install as a lot of people use Fx without any issues. I'd start by looking at the plug-ins you have installed. Disable them all and selectively enable until you see the same problem. Further questions might be better off at a PC support site like http://superuser.com or similar.
As a side note, I'd highly recommend looking at upgrading to the latest version of the code. There are some known issues with the 3.4.05 code base that have since been fixed. None of those problems are related to the one you are posting, but they do need fixing. If you have problems/questions with the upgrade, post in the appropriate forum here and we'll be glad to help. |

Hi Anonjr,
I don't think it is a firefox issue, since MY firefox is running fast with http://forum/snitz.com.
Also, many people have told me about the same issue, and i have tested the forum with many friend's computers with the same results.
I will try to enable / disable the addons, but i suspect this is not the problem also.
Anyway, thank you for your quick answer.

I'm using FF 3.6.3...
This page was generated in 0.31 seconds.
That's the home page which is usually the slowest. |

In my firefox, all sites posted by HuwR (.Net version of Snitz Forums 2000) and bobby131313 ( Coin Community Forum - Stamp Community Forum - Switch the order of your title tags) run as fast as in IE.
Only monachos.gr is slow as hell.
Does http://www.monachos.gr/forum run fast in your firefox browsers???
Also, yesterday i was in a friend, and his firefox also was very very slow.
Can please someone help?
Thank you very much in advance.

It looks like firefox is very slow on data loading, since the message (data transfer from monachos.gr - waiting for monachos.gr) is quite slow.
When data is loaded, the page is displayed immediately.

I'm also not seeing any differences with Fx, IE8, Opera, or Chrome...
I'm still leaning towards a misbehaving add-on or a local setting that's off. For example: if you accidentally set YSlow to auto poll all HTTP traffic on that one site (sometimes done for debugging purposes) and forgot to turn it off, you can get similar results. |

Yeah, I get the slowness you are talking about when I browse your site with Firefox. It is very fast with IE but takes a while in the latest version of FF.
I see a lot of empty script tags in your source. Have you tried taking these out and see if Firefox runs better? Because I get a lot of errors in my error console because of those tags.
Error: invalid XML attribute value

Line: 2, Column: 12
Source Code:
<scRipT src=></sCrIpt>
Don't know if it's the cause of the slowdown, but it's a start.
You said you don't know where they come from? Post a link to a text version of your default.asp and inc_header.asp files, see if we can find what's happening. |

"Latest version" as in "3.6.3" or "latest version as in the most current code available? If its the former, I'm still not seeing it...
Also, when you post up a link to a txt version of default.asp and inc_header.asp, include inc_footer.asp. |
