I'm the forum admin.

I'm starting a new topic. I enter the message and when I click "Post New Topic", it takes a long time and a get a page can't be displayed message. It isn't a long post, I've posted longer ones. IF I remove the last sentence, it posts. If I put the last sentence back, it doesn't. I can post the last sentence in another post but not at the end of this one. Here's the post.

There are two basic ways to duplicate product faces.

The first is to use the Duplicate Right and Duplicate Up commands to create multiple product facings. Just select a product and then use either command to duplicate the facings. Make sure there's enough room upwards and to the right for duplicating.

The second method is done by holding down the CONTROL Key while dragging a product face. A duplicate of the product face will be dragged and will have created a duplicate. The advantage to this method is that you can duplicate multiple facings and/or shelves at the same time. You could, for example, set up shelves in section one, and then drag-duplicate them into the second section by holding down the CONTROL Key while dragging the shelves from section one to section two.

It would be important to know the error message actually generated. Not sure whether your browser is configured to display error messages, but if it isn't, maybe try this:

http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=21987

Also, it may be the server that doesn't display error messages, but try the browser trick first. Depending on the browser you use, using another one may help find the error message (IE 8 never displays them for me, Firefox does).

Once you find the error message, we will be able to provide better help.

I'm using IE 6. I've posted other messages with no problem. This is wierd one. If I remove the last sentence and then just type a few lines of jibberish (asdjhaksj), it's posted. If I put back the last sentence it doesn't post. If I post the last sentence by itself, it posts. I unchecked the advanced option covered in the topic with the same results. When I click the post button, after about 5 or more minutes, I get a Page can not be displayed message. It stops on the post_info.asp page.

It seems the dimension of the post (my guess) is creating an error. I need to know the error in order to be able to help. I don't think it's the sentence itself. There can be several things causing that, both client side or server side. I would suggest that you try the same post in Firefox, to see if you get an error message. Without it, we would just be wild guessing the reason and it would be very unlikely to be able to come with a solution.
Please try to give us an error message, so that we can provide the proper solution to that situation.

I wish I got an error. I've worked in ASP as well. Sometimes you don't get an error, simply the page won't display, as is the case here with the post_info.asp page. That makes it impossible to find the problem if it isn't a know problem. I will chalk it off to a freak error and hope it doesn't happen to me or my customers at a later time. If so, I'll contact you again. Thanks for your help.

Hey, if you want to post the full message and provide me with a test login, I can go there and test it myself, and check what happens...

was this ever fixed? I'm having the same problem it is SO weird. When I try to copy and paste the text into notepad then into a NEW post it still errors out. Here is the error that doesn't give you anything.
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

What you can try:
Diagnose Connection Problems

More information

This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:

•Internet connectivity has been lost.
•The website is temporarily unavailable.
•The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
•The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.
•There might be a typing error in the address.
•If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section.

For offline users

You can still view subscribed feeds and some recently viewed webpages.
To view subscribed feeds

1.Click the Favorites Center button , click Feeds, and then click the feed you want to view.

To view recently visited webpages (might not work on all pages)

1.Click Tools , and then click Work Offline.
2.Click the Favorites Center button , click History, and then click the page you want to view.

Any ideas? I'm going to try FireFox

Here is the text in the message field

What database are you using? Is it size limited or does it grow per your needs?

If you turn off friendly error messages you'll also get a more informative error message.

I'm leaning more to an older browser problem. Both persons didn't say if they tried a more recent browser and see if they have the same error. Google Chrome, Firefox, Opera.

Also the database type may be a factor and if they made any changes to the database recently. Or how they set
up the database. Could also be if they are using an old database server.

Size of the database as well. Maybe the hard drive the server is on is close to being full?

Just a few possibilities. But trying a newer browser should be the first step.

Another possibility would be that the field type for the message was changed.
