Is it possible to control the registration of users to a Snitz forum. I can cause it to send an email to a new registratant and allow me to approve or not approve a new registrant. But the email seems to override the approval method.

I hope that makes sense.

Thank you for any assistance.

Robert

Approval must come before the email is sent and you should approve the registration, not activate it. Activation will not send the email, approval will.

yes of course it is, your registration here was controlled by us. Email validation is a different thing than aproval of a registration.
Just enable restrict registration in the admin options (under email configuration).

Thank you so much for your replys to my question.

This is what happens. I go to the forum and do a new registration. An e-mail is sent to the address I entered. At the same time the new member is listed in the "members pending" data base. I can approve the member by clicking on the link received in the e-mail or by loging in as the administrator and approving the user in the members pending db. They seem to be independent of each other. What I would like to have happen is that only an administrator could approve or allow the new member to post to the board by activating the account or deleting the account. And not have the new member activated by responding to the email link. Is that possible? and if it is, can you advise me as to how to make that work? You guys are the greatest.
Thanks,
robert

As Huw stated you need to set Restriction Registration to On, in Admin Options -> Email Server Configuration.

Yes it is possible. Go to the Admin panel and select E-mail Server Configuration, Restrict Registration. You still need to have email validation switched on to do this though.

No problem, just keep asking. One problem per thread, please.
