I'm trying to upload a pdf file, but despite I've done that before, now I'm getting the error that pdf's aren't accepted. Of course all the settings are all right (changed them and back again) but even a file that I've uploaded before succesfully won't go.
What can be wrong? |

Well, if you've recently moved to a new host, it could be that they don't support it.
So, you say that you've added them before... where? IN your forums, as a link on your forums, somewhere else on your site?
Also, you may need to check that you have Acrobat Reader installed, I know I was having a problem recently with pdf files. I had Acrobat Reader, but it got corrupted somehow so I had to reinstall the newest version. Could you maybe take a screenshot or copy and paste the error message? |

What's the exact error message you're receiving? Can you post *.txt copies of the relevant files? One possibility is that the file may be too big and the wrong error is getting thrown.

Search is your friend “I was having a mildly paranoid day, mostly due to the fact that the mad priest lady from over the river had taken to nailing weasels to my front door again.” |

The file isn't more than 200Kb is it? Did you move to a Windows 2003/2008 hosting package and if that is the case, then the max upload size is set to 200Kb for a file. Can not remember the topic this was listed in, but requires the host to do a change in the metabase of IIS. |

The problem is in uploading the pdf. Even the same pdf that I've uploaded before (as different user) won't upload. Still the same provider, settings are as they should be. Change the file into a .doc and it can be uploaded. The extension seems to be the problem. |

Can you at least show us what the actual error code is that you are getting? There must be some sort of error code. |

There's nog error code, just the standard text that pdf aren't allowed. Just the same message you get when f.i. you block uploading .doc files. |

Just copy and paste that text please, it could really help us (probably more them, lol) help you.
Also, as HuwR said, links are always helpful. They let others see almost exactly what you do. |

When you say "Upload", are you talking about an .asp upload page aspSmartUpload, or ftp?
If it's FTP your provider has changed/removed the MIME setting to allow .pdf files. If it's an uploading program it could still be the server, otherwise look at your UL program settings.
