I would like to suggest a mod to Snitz post editing maybe in 3.4.07.
I think there is a mod but I am afraid to add it because it required a lot of edits.
I recently had an issue where a user was pissed off and leaving the forum. Before she left she edited all her posts from years ago even and left them with no subject and no content.
Just a * in the subject.
It seems after a day or so editing should just be disabled. Many forums are 1 hour I believe.
I am so fearful of adding any mods because of the way multiple mods make the code harder to manage when you have little time and little clue using Asp etc.
This is one of those things that is going to require a lot of edits by its very nature. If you can, set up a small testing area somewhere and make the changes with a copy just to test it firs. That way if anything goes awry, you're the only one that knows.
Thanks AnonJr. Yes I did see that and while it is not complicated I am concerned about all the other mods getting in the way.
For example the IP address mod that was written and updated just does not work on my forums. I woiuld love to convert to MS SQL from MY SQL if possible and even if not at least setup a new SNITZ forum clean and then import all the posts and just members with more than 0 posts.
Jeez that would be so nice. Then I bet the mods would work.
I made a mess of the forums early on.
You know what it is like managing a forum full of Women posting about their sick cats? Jeez I know how I feel about my own cats (I love them like family) so you can imagine what these women can get like when they are upset about their babies. Then the women that think they have all the answers come in and look out. You would think they were talking about world peace and nuclear development in 3rd world countries. It is the very few people that are looking to take advantage that create the issue and the people in charge that think they can change human nature. Talk about Soap Operas!!
Do I ever know how that goes... I'm still dealing with a few interesting issues on a couple of my forums from some stupid early mistakes. However, I plan on fixing them as I upgrade them to a modified 3.4.07.
