Are you sure its not a different issue? It seems to me that strNewsForum_ID is empty - maybe you ought to check that first.

it's still coming up with the error and a very old version of the home page.
could you explain what you mean by a very old version of the homepage? the pages are nothing to do with the database either. Are you sure you didn't replace other files as well as your database. I can honestly say I have never known a compact and repair to do anything to the content of the database, so maybe it is not the compact and repair that has caused your issue.

do you maybe have a link where we can see for ourselves?

upgrading does not mean you will lose your members or any other data, the upgrade process will just update the db no data is lost. I will say one thing however, if you have an access db that is that size you really should consider upgrading to either mySQL or MSSQL otherwise you are just going to run into even more isues in the future.

your forum is now fixed, you just needed to run forum/setup.asp to reload some variables.

You are using a version of the forum that you may not actually be able upgrade by the way, it is not a standard Snitz release.

He is using a copy of ServerHackers forum code (Snitz based) and that maybe able to be upgraded, but you will need to get the info from his site.

Cheers,
