I just added the active users Mod, and at the end I came along something about LangMODS_Ls3kAU4. I tried to follow the instructions but got an error and because I only use Dutch on the forum, I cheated and renamed the Dutch file with the original English filenaam and the text used by the Mod is now Dutch. But the instructions mention: VERSION 3.4 (not already configured). This sounds like there is a possibility to make 3.4 international.
Or was this wishfull thinking of the author?< |

At the time that mod was in the prime of its development a new, internationalised version of Snitz, which has since been essentially dropped, was being worked on.

OK, thanks. I've translated almost all user pages into Dutch and it would be a little ........... if there was indeed an international version. Yes, I know there is a Dutch version, but that one is a couple of versions behind, so I started for scratch (and a good way to learn how your boardsoftware functions).< |

Indeed. While it is a PITA to go through all the code to make changes like that, you do get a much better understanding of how the code works and what does what. < |

To use AU4.0 for V3406, which you seem to have localized into Dutch by hardcode "translation" of language text strings in V3406 base codes, you can follow AU4.0 instruction for V340. To use a language file with your V3406 Dutch, you need to create a language file for 1030 - Dutch, and follow instructions for "language instruction" at the end of V340 instructions at the right column. I have both V34062 with lots of mods including AU4.0 and a Japanese version V3406 working locally with it.
Re-read your original post, and you did it exactly how it supposed to do more or less.
If you have your V3406 with hardcoded Dutch text strings, you can set your forum LCID to 1030 itself. For AU40 to use as a single non-English version, instead of making 1033 as a default LCID, you set it to 1030 and also rename l033 language file to 1030 and translate the text strings into Dutch (which you seem to have done).
Creating a single locale version in hardcode translation of text strings into the base codes are pain and take a lot of efforts/time. Probably it is better to stick with "localizing" only those files for forum user interface, not Admin section unless necessary.
