I am not sure this is a mail configuration issue but I could not find my issue any ware in the forum so please excuse me if this topic has already been discussed else ware.

I am running the newest version of Snitz and all is running well as far as the database functioning. My issue is that my subscriptions have suddenly stopped working. The reason I don’t think it is a mail configuration problem is that members can mail to each other using the forum and the email activation link is sent to new subscribers. Members can also send the “Send topic to a friend” link with no problems. It is only the subscriptions that won’t send. I understand how to use and setup the subscriptions and it worked at one point but then with no apparent reason it just stopped working?
Now I don’t know if this is the cause of the problem but when I access the database and look at the subscriptions my first user starts at 13 and not 1? Could this have anything to do with it? Without further understanding of the auto number function it wont let me force the renumbering of the subscriptions and frankly I don’t know if this would break it even further if I was able to changed them.

I don’t know ware else to look to see if there is a broken link or DB string.

I am running Windows 2003 Server with an SMTP relay.

Please help me before I loose my mind!
Thanks for any help you can give me!<

The autonumber does not cause that.
What you need to ensure is that you have subscriptions enabled at each level: board, category and forum and the the subscription level at each of these is compatible. Maybe tell us what you have at each level and for each category and forum to see if they are compatible.<

In the admin section under Feature Configuration I have highest level of subscription set to “Subscribe to whole board”. Then under one of my categories (the only one I want subscriptions to) I have that set to “Forum Subscriptions Allowed”.

It worked at one point but now poof! No longer working!?

Thanks for your help!

You should have Category Subscriptions Allowed at cat level and then Forum Subscriptions allowed, at forum level.<

Hey, no problem, don't feel bad about that, cause we're here to help, and subscriptions can be tricky to configure. Glad it's all working now .<

Hi all, I thought i'd post this here as to not create a new topic.

My issue is that I cannot enable subscriptions on my new forum...

Podge, great tutorial, but i have a problem. I have enabled subscription to the whole board in the features part of the admin, but then when i go to the category, it does not give me the subscrition option?

can you help?

I don't know if I still have the source for the tutorial. If not I'll add some text above the movie.<

hello, good day to all... :)

im having problems with the subscription thing... i followed what was instructed above and also viewed podge's video, i still cant make the subscription work... :(

im using the latest version of snitz...

im hosting the forum from home, running winxp pro sp3, with iis 5.1 installed aspemail(hoping the problem would be the cdosys) and updated my OS....

im using no-ip.com my url example is mydomain.no-ip.com
i spoke to my ISP admin support, and they told me that port 25 is not block and when i try the subscription thing, my email account from my ISP is the only email(myemail@globelines.com.ph) account that can receive subscription notice from the forum, and for the rest of yahoo, hotmail and gmail, none of my test came....

i've been switching email component back and fort from cdosys to aspemail, and the only email account that gets the subscription notice from the forum is my email(myemail@globelines.com.ph) account from my ISP...

my ISP SMTP URL is webmail.globelines.com.ph for incoming and outgoing mails.... i've search and worked on it for a week already, i read and tried the samples given from the discussion in this forum and still wont work....

need your help badly..... thanks in advance.... :)
