How do I know if Ipgate latest version works properly for blocking ip, already blocking a user ban does not work, I tested with me in creating a test account. |

While I haven't worked with the MOD in question, I'm reasonably certain that it won't let you block yourself...
All things being equal, I'm not a big fan of blocking IPs simply because the downsides out weigh the benefits. IPs are not always fixed, the IP you see could be a proxy - and by banning the proxy you could ban everyone who is behind it, and if they are remotely smart they could use any of a number of annonimizers (most of which are glorified proxies).
But that's just me. Some people are willing to take the risk of blocking entire swaths of potential visitors, or are willing to bet on the hacker moving on to other "low hanging fruit" instead of being persistent (though whoever it is that's hell-bent on spamming the church site hasn't gone away despite all I've done - but that's another story).</rant> |

I just try ban IP and it works with a friend. Thank you. I had several inscription on my forum whose mail was false from Russia, for me, I did not need foreign spammers especially Russia, you understand that I need it. I do not spend my time to remove false claims in the suspended members. So I installed this mod. |
