about the only thing you can do to increase pagerank is to be linked to by a lot of other highly ranked sites, since that is what pagerank is, however SEO is not about PageRank. SEO is about optimising your pages so that they get found when searching, PageRank is just about Googles 'percieved importance' of your page which is different.

Well, there's actually more to it than that.
If your site is 100% dedicated to widgets and a PR6 site 100% dedicated to flisbins links to you, it won't help much, if at all. A PR2 site about widgets linking to you would be tremendously better.
Solid internal linking is huge. No page on your site should be more than 2 clicks from your homepage. If you use javascript menus, make sure you have a comparable menu in a <noscript> tag.
Page Titles are huge, they are the single most important meta tag. Make sure they are on target and the targeted words are in the first 55-60 characters.
Google sitemaps are a must. They make a big difference. But don't think because you use them you can slack on internal linking.
Page Titles have nothing whatsoever to do with PageRank and neither do sitemaps, PageRank is a pure calculation based on the importance/weight of external links to your site.
PageTitles, sitemaps and page content enhance your SEO not your pagerank.
As for SEO (God, I hate that term!), if your website is structured, coded & written well, that's all there is to it - there's no great mystery behind it Just think of the bots as normal visitors using text-based browsers (i.e., no CSS, javascript, images, etc.).
Search is your friend “I was having a mildly paranoid day, mostly due to the fact that the mad priest lady from over the river had taken to nailing weasels to my front door again.”

I fully understand that. I addressed the Pagerank issue, then moved on to SEO which he mentioned in a later post. Guess I should have been more clear.

My appologies, I thought you were linking the two together.
Thanks guys I guess I need to start looking into getting links from people who are dedicated to site and logo design as well as web apps being written. See if they will link into me.
As for the SEO side of it one question the page title I have it set up something like makeityourweb - portfolio. Should I take out the makeityourweb part of the title?
Thanks for the suggestions. I plan on becoming a expert at both of these someday But need to learn all there is to do with pagerank and SEO. I am sure there are tricks with each one.
Although with Google it's difficult to definitively prove these things, I've found that reversing the order of my page titles (changing "string1 > string2 > string3" to "string3 < string2 < string1") has produced a noted but not always major increase in position and traffic. However this presents something of a Catch-22 situation as, once the visitor has the page open in his browser, he expects to see the title read left to right, which also benefits the visitor by allowing them to see at a glance which websites he has open in each tab or window.
