POP3 is not a mail component it is a protocol.
"Select Email Component" means exactly what it says, you 'select' one of the 'email components' that are listed in the dropdown list next to that label.

See what your hosting service recommends. Most hosts have a FAQ where they outline what components are available and which ones they would rather you use.

sounds to me like a good reason to pick a different host.

there are hundreds if not thousands of people using Snitz succesfully with GoDaddy.

maybe if you told us which items you can select we can advise you which one, but we can't until you tell us the options you have to chose from

I think most GoDaddy users are using CDOSYS, but a quick search for GoDaddy in these forums should pull up any info you need.

I use CDONTS with godaddy.

I use smtpout.secureserver.net as my email server address. Which is what you should use as it sounds like you are using godaddy as your email provider.

email.yourdomain.com is just a link to the godaddy webbased mail login

Try this for GoDaddy :

Set myMail=CreateObject("CDO.Message")
Set objCDOSYSCon = Server.CreateObject ("CDO.Configuration")
'Set and update fields properties
		With objCDOSYSCon

      		'Out going SMTP server
	       		.Fields("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/smtpserver") = "relay-hosting.secureserver.net"
	       	'SMTP port
	       		.Fields("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/smtpserverport") = 25
	       	'CDO Port
	       		.Fields("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/sendusing") = 2
	       	'Timeout
	       		.Fields("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/smtpconnectiontimeout") = 60
			.Fields.Update
 		End With

I have Jackpothosting.com which seems to be the same setup as GoDaddy. I have 2 different domains/hosting accounts which are both setup the same and both running the same forum code. However, one will let me use CDONTS with "mail.domain.com" as the email server, and everything works great, but the other domain won't work like that. With the other domain, I have to use CDOSYS with "relay-hosting.secureserver.net" as the email server.

I don't know why one works differently, but it does. The point being that what works for one customer, may not work for another.
