Okay, been searching for answers for several days, but don't seem to find my particular problem anywhere else.

I have lots of email addresses, and have been testing them all as test members. Also, emails are hosted by different websites, but all the websites are hosted on the same server and server company (IXwebhosting).

The crazy issue is, when I approve members (and it says it sends an email to the members):

activation emails show up for all my addresses @cecolts.comHOWEVER
no activation emails show up for any address @coloradoaquarium.org
AND
no activation emails show up for any address @2000webdesign.com

I have tried this with ASPEmail, CDONTS, and CDOSYS, all with the same result.

Any ideas?

Are you using authentication in inc_mail.asp i.e. supplying a username and password ? You may need to authenticate to send email outside your domain.

CDOSYS supports authentication, CDONTS doesn't and ASPEmail does if its the paid version.

Set your email component to CDOSYS and then edit the cdosys section of inc_mail.asp to include a valid email & password. Don't forget to uncomment the three lines in that section.

will it make all messages originate from that email?

i.e. will member email to member still work okay?

Well.... I tried it.

Same result.

Emails to @cecolts.com go through
Emails to @coloradoaquarium.org and @2000webdesign.com do not arrive

the forum has no way of distinguishing between addresses, if some mails work and other don't, it is either a relaying issue on the mail server (your forum mail account may not have permission to relay) or the recipient mail server is filterring them as spam or something.

That is what I can't figure out. All my email are the same server, just different website domains.

I will continue to try to figure it out.

Not that I can get to. I will request them from my hosting company if you think it might help.

I have been going through all the options all night and have finally found that Dundas Quick Mail gets through to all my addresses.

I havn't seen other people on here using that. Is it not a good one to use?

You can alter inc_mail.asp to include a new email component if you wish.
