I've done a search and found references to two different mods that would let the admin use html in posts. The trouble is that both point to dead links. Is there anything currently available? |

There is some code floating around, and I think there is still a MOD up on snitzbitz.com - the problem (last time I tried this) is you get all sorts of fun errors if a member tries to quote an Admin post that has HTML.
Is there a specific reason why you want this? I ask because if its to do something like embed YouTube code or some other multimedia, there is a MOD floating around that will add the tags you need to do that with forum code - eliminating the need for anyone to need HTML. |

I've added images to the forum descriptions and would like to turn them into clickable links that open in the same window. I don't know enough about ASP to alter the way it handles URLs, so I thought I'd try it with html.
It wouldn't go into a quotable post, so I don't think there would be any problem or user error messages.
I've checked SnitzBitz a couple times, and couldn't find anything, but I might have missed it.
Thanks, Ken http://www.bluemoonfabrications.com/forum/default.asp |

If I remember correctly, those mods would be more for the posts and replies themselves, so may not be a great help to you anyway (I'm happy to be corrected), but the code change you'll need is very minor, and if you've been able to set up a good looking forum like that, it won't be beyond you at all - do you fancy having a go at the code? If so, perhaps someone here is slicker than I am (I'm so rusty now!), but it'll be a case of adding a couple of simple HTML tags for each image.
On the kite front - you MUST either license these or import them - you will be amazed at the crowds they draw, I'm not a kitey person but half-considered offering to buy the global franchise from these guys - http://goflykite.com - halfway between a model plane and performance kite, these are amazing (and sell by the bucketload in Singapore for US$400/ea roughly!) |

Here you go - loads more details all over the internet/HTML books :-)
Image Links can be used by enclosing the image source tag within the anchor tag.
This is the tag to display an image <IMG SRC="image.gif">.
Here is how you create an html image link: <A HREF="introduction.asp"><IMG SRC="/cliktoprogram/previous.gif"></A>.

pdrg - thanks for that, but I know how to do links in html. I need help in getting it to work inside a post, or more specifically, inside a forum description. |

(note to HuwR, we really ought to add the [noparse] tags to the forums here... )
Note to kmac, spaces added to keep it from being rendered...

Or you could have noticed the FAQ item... [link] |
