Is there anyway for a post to have columns? Such as, rather than a long list of items left justified, have the list appear in two column?

You could do it if HTML posting was on and you embedded a table, but it's not a convenient thing to do. |

You can have two columns "line up" if you use the code tag. The extra spaces won't be eliminated that way, but the font is different.

I seem to remember that some time ago someone made a MOD that added [table] tags. If memory serves it worked ok as long as you didn't forget to close anything... might want to search the archives.
I will say that its veering into "might want to think of why/how bad I need this" territory. |

Ok, maybe you have a better solution than the [table] mod. Here is what I am trying to do. I want to the teams and logos in my "Other NFL Teams" section to line up. Here is the link so you an see what it looks like currenty. http://www.sportsforumz.net/forum/nfl/cowboys/forum/ |

Why run a separate forum for each team? If someone was a fan of more than one team (or if they wanted to communicate with someone who was on another team's forum) they would need to sign up multiple times.
Alternately, if you had one forum where there was a separate category for each team, and that category had that team's forums, you wouldn't need to worry about keeping the links the way they are.
I might be missing something as I'm at work and can't exactly dig too deeply into the site at the moment - so I'll look a little more when I get home. If you don't see a post from me in 8 hrs or so bump this topic so I'll remember... |

I see from the home page, you're covering all the major sports. Will each team in every sport have its own forum? That's A LOT of forums, and work. Granted, each forum customized with the corresponding tean colors/logos is sharp, but I agree with Anon. You've duplicated a lot of content. I'd do as he suggests and combine some things. Maybe each sport having its own forum, with each team having it's own category.
I like the concept you're after, but it just seems like a lot of duplicated work. |

Each team is set up as a separate forum and therefore has separate tables in the database, but I have setup only 1 users table, so each user can post in each forum without having to register. |

You seem to have a rather ambitious site. In all honesty, I'd probably try to limit my scope - but that's me.
If you want to host a forum that covers so many subject areas, I set up one forum for each sport with a category for each team. Then I'd add whatever team-specific forums to that, and move all but the most team-specific to a community category. Most of the forums you have set up could easily be used by fans of all teams.
That's just a first impression. There's probably a way to easily condense everything down to one forum and still keep the kind of separation you want for the team-specific stuff. It may be worth looking into the sub-forum MOD for some ideas. |
